The first trick to really designing your own kitchen space is using materials that are a little bit different. You want to try to find things that you haven't seen used before, or use old materials in new ways. There are also really interesting ways to incorporate your double basin sinks into these designs. Consider some of these creative ideas next time you want to redo your kitchen with a little bit of Creative Flair:
Stainless Steel Kitchen
One of the newest exciting Trends in kitchens is the use of stainless steel over broad areas. This is more than just having stainless steel appliances. This is about using stainless steel Cabinetry as well. This can cover every portion of the kitchen aside from the countertops. You want to do the counter tops in a bright and solid color. Some people recommend whites and others recommend Reds. This sets everything apart and gives the area a truly classic design. The stainless steel itself can be wiped down and provide an excellent and sanitary cooking surface.
Lacquered Surfaces
Stainless steel is a bit much for some- but you’re a fan of bold colors, you can try a lacquered finish. This involves finishing every cabinet and the majority of the surfaces in the room with a bright or different kind of color. This can be a lot of fun when you’re doing things like greens or Vivid Blues. Then, you want to make sure that you have countertops that are going to complement this without making the area too opaque. Using a special sink can help to bring the entire look together.
Retro
Retro designing a kitchen involves creating a space that is a true throwback to a different era. Many people enjoy doing their kitchens in 50s décor. This can be a lot of fun, especially when you incorporate appliances from that era. There are actually ways to fit certain refrigerators to look like they come from the 50s or 60s. This is a great way to still get the modern convenience with the consistency of the retro design. People take this to the next level and do the black and white checkered floors. This is great for red countertops, or for a stainless-steel look. It’s very important to play to your personal taste when doing any design this drastic.
